WikiLeaks ‘Collateral Murder’ update

A squaddy leapt out and ordered my hands into the air while another in the cab pointed a rifle at my head. They thought the long lens was some kind of weapon. I was praying a car didn’t backfire. So even in those days (the 80s) troops were mistaking camera gear for lethal weapons.”

Outrage over CNN report on WikiLeaks video by Wolf…

CNN viewers around the world are shouting three words in unison:  «Shame on CNN!»  Yesterday, tracking the response of the media to the release of the WikiLeaks video, I blogged:

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer interviewed Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr about the video.  The network presented a short clip from the video.  Out of «respect for the families of the journalists killed» CNN does not show the Apache helicopter actually firing on the group of men.  What is really bizarre is that this CNN report makes no mention at all of the unconscionable attack on the rescue van which killed the rescuers and seriously injured two children. I have been monitoring viewer comments left on the CNN webpage where a video of the Situation Room interview is posted.  Some 3,103 CNN viewers have commented.   The most «liked» comment was this one:

US Army Doing ‘Collateral Murders’ On Video

, The case of “collateral murder,” the WikiLeaks website today released harrowing until-now secret video of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter in Baghdad in 2007 repeatedly opening fire on a group of men that included a Reuter’s photographer and his driver.

This is the most shocking footage to come out of Iraq. None of the members of the group were taking hostile action, contrary to the Pentagon’s initial cover story; they were milling about on a street corner.

WikiLeaks: ‘Video Game’-Like Behavior Exhibited In…

The above video was procured from WikiLeaks, an organization which exists to show government coverups to the people of the world. The brutal killing of Reuters photojournalist Namir Noor-Eldeen and assistant Saeed Chmagh is disturbing to say the very least.

The Australian journalist and WikiLeaks advisory board member, Julian Assange, released the video at the National Press Club in Washington.

How to connect mobile phone to external display or…

AJAX (abbreviation for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is a great technique for creating dynamic and interactive web applications which are better, faster and more user friendly. It is not a new language; rather, it is a new way to use existing standards. It allows you to retrieve data asynchronously from the server without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. In essence, a javascript communicates directly with the server through the XMLhttp Request object and data is sent from the server to the page in the background silently. Traditionally, getting information from a database required creating a form using the GET or POST method with a submit button. While the advantages of using AJAX are quite obvious, like reducing connections to the server (scripts and style sheets only require to be requested once), sections of pages can be loaded individually, etc, there are a few disadvantages too, which few will tell you.
